Potassium/phosphorus limits are shown only when ticked — guidelines individualise them by blood tests; the ranges here are common references.
For stable transplant recipients the general adult 0.8 g/kg is used as a reference; the guideline gives no fixed figure — follow your transplant team.

Reading the numbers
- Reference values come from the KDOQI 2020 nutrition guideline (protein, calories, sodium). For potassium and phosphorus the guideline gives no fixed number — intake is adjusted to your blood tests — so the ranges here are common references only; follow the targets your doctor/dietitian gave you.
- Protein is per kg body weight: lower before dialysis (0.55–0.6 g/kg), higher on dialysis (1.0–1.2 g/kg). Choosing the right situation matters.
- Food values are USDA averages per 100 g; real amounts vary with variety and cooking (boiling leaches some potassium). Phosphate additives in processed food are absorbed almost completely and matter more than natural phosphorus.
- Going over a reference value is a nudge, not a failure — adjust the next day. Bring this record to your care team if in doubt.
